Mental Health Awareness Week

This year, Mental Health Awareness Week will focus on stress

More than 16 million people experience a mental health problem every year, and stress is a key factor and increasingly likely cause of this. By tackling stress, we can go a long way to tackle mental health problems such as anxiety and depression, and, in some instances, self-harm and suicide.

In support of the week, our mental health boot camp will be promoting Mind, Body & Soul, helping you to improve your mental health and wellbeing.

Join us on Wednesday 16 May 2018, between 6pm and 8pm at St Andrew's Healthcare, Billing Road, Northampton, for a FREE evening of relaxation with tips from experts about how to de-stress and unwind.

Yoga and mindfulness spaces are limited so we advise booking. Please email us at [email protected] to reserve your space and indicate which session you would like to attend. Include your name a contact details. You can also book your place on a yoga or mindfulness session by calling us on 01604 616150 during office hours.

Session times are as follows:

  • 6:15pm - 6:35pm Yoga
  • 6:45pm - 7:05pm Mindfulness
  • 7:15pm - 7:35pm Yoga
  • 7:45pm - 8:05 Mindfulness

By registering the event and attending the evening, you could: 

  • Take part in a FREE yoga or mindfulness session
  • Have a FREE hand or head massage
  • Try a variety of arts and crafts
  • Discover opportunities to participate in local sports
  • Learn about and then purchase products designed to help you de-stress, including aromatherapy, bath salts, crystals and herbal teas
  • Speak to a number of experts from St Andrew’s outpatient clinic, nutrition and dietetics and chaplaincy teams about your mental health and wellbeing

World Mental Health Day - Mental Health in the Workplace - Tuesday 10 October 2017

Exhibitors and speakers included Mind Northampton, NHS Changing Minds IAPT service, St Andrew's Outpatient clinic, First for Wellbeing, Northamptonshire Sport, Barclaycard, Northamptonshire Carers, Trilogy Gyms and Workbridge. Each offered advice and guidance to help people find a healthier work-life balance. Free Mindfulness and Yoga sessions were also offered.

Mental Health Awareness Week - Building Mental Resilience - Wednesday 10 May 2017

People were able to learn how sport, exercise and food can all help to improve their mental health. Exhibitors included St Andrew's Outpatient clinics, Daily Bread, Northamptonshire Sport, Relate, Mind and Trilogy Gyms.
