If you think you or a family member has depression

If you are concerned that you, your child or family member has depression then we can help to provide quick access to an effective diagnostic assessment of your symptoms. We accept NHS or private referrals and encourage you to speak to your GP about your desire to have an assessment at St Andrew’s Outpatient Clinic.

Assessments are usually conducted as quickly as possible with no waiting times and a clear diagnosis provided to you and your GP within two weeks of the assessment.

Depression can be managed successfully with talking therapies such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), mindfulness, support and medication.

Living with depression can be difficult but diagnosing depression will help you to understand the reasons for your symptoms, help you overcome your current feelings and move forward with your life.
