Dr Kamath has worked in private practice since 2009 and has extensive experience working with people across inpatient, medico-legal and outpatient settings. He has provided psychiatric assessment reports on the instructions of Occupational Health physicians for different bodies including the police and fire services.
Career history
Dr Sanjith Kamath has been a Consultant Psychiatrist since 2007, working in both the NHS and the private sector before joining St Andrew’s to work in the Women’s Service in 2012 where he subsequently became Clinical Director. As a general adult psychiatrist Dr Kamath runs a weekly outpatient clinic at St Andrew’s and has a wide range of expertise in the assessment and management of individuals with problems including depression and anxiety disorders, stress related disorders including Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), alcohol and drug problems, bipolar disorder, psychosis and schizophrenia and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD).
Networks
He was recently invited to lecture at the Spring Conference of the ALAMA (Association of Local Authority Medical Advisors) to doctors providing occupational health services to local authority employees and employers such as the police, fire and the National Health Service.
